- Soil
- It extends up to 330 meters above sea level, occupying a steep, east-facing slope that runs down towards the Straßertal valley, and a gentle decline towards the south. The soil in the upper part of the area has developed on paragneiss, mica schist, and amphibolite bedrock, while at the southern foot of the slope a soil rich in humus has developed on a thick layer of loess. It´s here were some of the best red wines of the Kamptal thrive.
