The Riesling counterpart to the Grüner Veltliner from the Schön and with it our most important wine. Why? It is the ultimate expression of the Hogls intentions, the mirror of their ideas, in short: an identity turned into wine. Ideally, the Riesling von der Bruck is mineral & soil-oriented, dark-fruity, slate and smoky, with white floral notes, precise stone fruit and a powerful fruit kick on the palate. The potential is great.

- Tasting note
- The definitive representative for the terroir. Cool, firm, smoky, as well as mineral. There are herbal aromas, dark berries, stone fruit notes and white rose petals on the palate. Nice balanced acidity; its high but well integrated. Intense, complex, lime, passion fruit, mandarine and a mineralic finish

- Vinification
- Wine-making is a constant and continuous reaction to the requirements of the grapes. We cultivate our own ideas in this respect - a little skin contact, warm fermentation temperatures, yeast contact - follow each step meticulously, yet try to influence the development as little as possible or intervene unmotivated. Most of the spring games and emeralds are stored in stainless steel tanks to reproduce the finesse and filigree of the wines as precisely as possible. Although we have clear ideas about the style of our wines, we try to keep our eyes on the bigger picture, free from dogma. We taste, experiment and listen: Other winegrowers but also our customers - because this is the only way to develop.
- Location Vineyard
- Single vinyard, very steep terraces, south exposed, 300-500 m above sea level
- Soil
- The Bruck is composed of a collection of steep terraces and is a monument in terms of masonry. Mica slate, gneiss and sandstone characterize the subsoil, in which almost exclusively Rieslings are rooted. Cold air currents (from the Waldviertel) and warm air currents (from the Danube) meet here and create an interplay of high sugar content and lively acidity.
