Ameri is produced usin two methods: the “taglio del tralcio”, that consists in cutting the cane supporting the ripe clusters to let them dry in the vineyard, and the “governo all’uso toscano”
that consists of vinifying these dried grapes together with fresh fermenting wine to produce a highly structured wine.

Ameri combines well with tasty dishes, based on red meat and game. We match it often with a nice selection of cured meats or very mature cheeses. It can also be enjoyed on its own to fully appreciate its complexity.

About this wine

Description & facts

Ameri is the result of a very unique method called “governo all’uso toscano” (governance in the Tuscan manner) described in the book "The art of making a perfect and durable wine”, 1774.
Moreover in this wine we used another quite unusual technique called “taglio del tralcio” that consists in cutting the cane supporting the ripe clusters.
By cutting the cane only the sun and the wind are promoting the natural dehydration of the grapes, concentrating sugars, acids, and aromas.

Tasting note
Ameri has an explosive nose with a ton of essence-like fruit, such as brambleberry pie, blackberry compote, herbal liqueur and resin. Fruity and very overt, but with good firmness to the tannins that helps guide layer upon layer of bold fruit to a chewy finish.

Fermentation of the dried grapes takes place, together with some fresh fermenting must, in stainless steel tanks for 7 days, with indigenous yeasts (pied de cuve). Afterwards, malolactic fermentation takes place rigorously in barrels. Maturation of 10 months in French oak barrels.
Location Vineyard
Situated on an ancient river bed, they lye on a wild land, between the Tyrrhenian sea and the gentle coastal hills of Tuscany.
Soil
