A Grüner Veltliner as well as a Riesling Federspiel
provide the ideal introduction into the complex worlds of the two varieties: not as much shaped by terroir as their counterparts in the steep vineyards of the Spitzer Graben they are fruit driven and easy going and therefore ideal companions throughout spring and summer.

- Inviting, quaffable and fruit-driven - the Veltliner of the vineyards at the shores of the Danube is a textbook example of the versatility of this grape variety: its harmonic, fresh and lively Veltliner, displaying pepper and tobacco aromas, invigorated further by subtle exotic flavours.

- Wine-making is a constant and continuous reaction to the requirements of the grapes. cultivate our own ideas in this respect - a little skin contact, warm fermentation temperatures, yeast contact - follow each step meticulously, yet try to influence the development as little as possible or intervene unmotivated. Most of the spring games and emeralds are stored in stainless steel tanks to reproduce the finesse and filigree of the wines as precisely as possible. Although we have clear ideas about the style of our wines, we try to keep our eyes on the bigger picture, free from dogma. We taste, experiment and listen: Other winegrowers but also our customers - because this is the only way to develop.

- The centre of these vineyards is in the Spitzer Graben, but for many years they have also had a few vineyards out by the river, between Weißenkirchen and Loiben, where vision is born on the Oberhauser vineyard. In the vineyards down in the plain, Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are grown on rather sandy soils.
