Winemaker & owner

Champagne Taittinger

The Taittinger family has managed the Champagne House for nearly a century. Its aim has always been the pursuit of excellence. “Having our family name on a bottle places demands and responsibilities on every minute. The name on the bottle conveys both the skills and knowledge of the past and a commitment to the future”. Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger has embodied this commitment for 40 years, and today its Vitalie and Clovis Taittinger who have the responsibility of  day to day running of the Champagne House, with Vitalie as the president. For the past 10 years in her role as Artistic and Marketing Director, Vitalie Taittinger has embodied the unique style of the Taittinger Champagne House. Much like her father, she shares an interest in artistic creation and in the values of openness and inquisitiveness. This is combined with a desire to enjoy the present without worrying about tomorrow. To achieve this, the hard-working lover of fine cuisine, who purposefully pursues those everyday moments of joy, has a secret. “As soon as you decide to live your life each day to the full, every day will quickly become more special and meaningful”.

Brut Reserve

Champagne Taittinger Brut Reserve

Taittinger Brut Réserve is a blend of Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (60%) wines from over 35 different vineyards and vintages matured to perfection.

This high proportion of Chardonnay, unique among fine non- vintage champagnes, and a minimum ageing of three years in the cellars, where it reaches the peak of aromatic maturity, makes Taittinger Brut Réserve a delicately balanced champagne, known for its consistently excellent quality all over the world. Taittinger considers it an honour to produce a Brut champagne every year without exception.

A refined and complex champagne, driven by Chardonnay, which has matured for at least 3 years in the Taittinger cellars. A champagne that radiates elegance and subtlety with a distinct character. In the taste you will find delicious aromas of apple and peach. This champagne has a lively and fresh character with a hint of honey. Consistent quality, finesse and easy drinking.

Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs

In 1952 Taittinger launched the top cuvée Comtes de Champagne, a Champagne that is only produced in very good harvest years. Made exclusively from Chardonnay from grand cru communes in the Côte des Blancs, such as Avize, Cramant and Mesnil-sur-Oger.

To create the Comtes de Champagne, only the «cuvee» is used, for an absolute guarantee of sophistication. Of the wines that make up its composition, 5% have been aged for 4 months in new oak barrels, one third of which are replaced each year. These enhance the inherent qualities of the final blend of toasted notes. During the 12 years it has spent slowly maturing in cellars, time has worked its magic, meaning this vintage comes to us with an extraordinary energy and ageing potential. All that remains now is for it to write the rest of its story

This is pure excellence. A very fine mousse, aromas of brioche, green apple and beautiful citrus fruits like lime. The attack is lively, with great aromatic refinement, a persistent minerality, pure, elegant and followed by a sensation of complex and soft freshness.
