Our wines

The Sangiovese grape variety is the absolute protagonist of Tenuta di Nozzole, where, in a unique ecosystem of Mediterranean scrubland, expresses all its potential. Used in purity it is aged in small toasted wooden barrels and in large seasoned oak barrels, the latter as a symbol of Tuscan tradition, depending on the wine project. The cultivation of Sangiovese is flanked by two other Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards for the production of Supertuscan Il Pareto.

Tenuta di Nozzole

La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG

A vineyard which, from a ridge, slopes down into a gorge; all around, only woods and lakes. It is here, on Tenuta di Nozzole, in Greve in Chianti, that one of the historic crus of Tenute Folonari is born, the first harvest of which dates back to 1980. La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is a wine in which, the viticultural and oenological sciences, are applied wisely; an example of how tradition, understood as the historical path of wine, has been taken over by innovation. For this reason, for 40 years La Forra has represented the perfect expression of the historic territory of Greve, the capital of the Florentine Chianti Classico.

The wine shows aromas of morello cherry liqueur, ripe red fruits, citrus peel and delicate tertiary nuances of cocoa and incense. A rich and elegant wine, intense and persistent, characterized by a gentle but firm tannin.

Tenuta di Nozzole

Il Pareto Toscana Rosso IGT ’18

Il Pareto, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, was born in the 1980s as a Supertuscan project and, already starting from the first vintage, it represents strength, power and sensory purity. This wine is part of a new vision of oenology, where we move from the study of native vines to the study of the suitability of the territory. It is not the vine that has adapted to the territory, therefore, but rather the discovery that the territory has the suitability for a limited production of grapes but characterized by a very high sensory complexity, where the typical characteristics of the grapes are maintained, enriching them with nuances and structure, body and elegance. Pareto is the winery’s cru, a great challenge and a winning bet for the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Chianti area. It is produced only in the best years.

Firm structure managed with elegance. Hints of currant, bitter chocolate, caramel, citron and balsamic aromas on the finish. Intense mouthfeel sensations of elegance and balance.
