Italy, Tuscany

Tenuta Vigne a Porrona

Tenuta Vigne a Porrona is located in the municipality of Cinigiano in the province of Grosseto. The heart of the Maremma hinterland, between the Ombrone Valley, the Val d’Orcia and the western slopes of Monte Amiata, is characterized by soils rich in minerals, a Mediterranean-type climate and the presence of constant ventilation, characteristics that allow a perfect ripening of the grapes. Here Sangiovese is the absolute protagonist of the two appellations, Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG and Morellino di Scansano DOCG. The international grapes are used instead for the production of Baby Super Tuscans.

Tenuta Vigne a Porrona

Morellino di Scansano DOCG

A 100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan Maremma within the Montecucco DOCG appellation and aged in French toasted oak barrels. A complex and firmly structured wine thanks to the good climatic features of Vigne a Porrona that lies on the gentle hills on the slopes of Mount Amiata a few kilometres from the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The wine reveals vinous and cherry aromas with delicately ethereal nuances. The taste is balanced with a long, savory and dry finish.

Tenuta Vigne a Porrona

Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG

Made only from Sangiovese grapes, Morellino of Vigne a Porrona is an example of how this grape variety manages to find its right place in Tuscany by absorbing the identity of each area where it is grown. This historic appellation of Maremma gives us a wine with a youthful and fresh character that is distinguished by its vinosity, marked fruity notes and soft tannins.

The wine reveals hints of red berries fruits, cloves, Mediterranean scrubland and spices. The mouthfeel is round and the sip is juicy with a fruity finish.
