Valdecuevas vineyard lies in the heart of Rueda appellation at 770 metres above sea level, where the work developed in the terroir is the key, treating the indigenous grape “Verdejo” with special and particular care so as to show the maximum expression of this variety.

“The Martin family has been working in the agrofood sector for more than 70 years, and during this time they have shown the gastronomical wealth of their region, a place with an undeniable value: Castile and Leon. In 2013, the 3rd generation of the family, set the goal to become a winery of reference along Rueda appellation, very well known for the Verdejo indigenous grape.”

We love the land and we take great care over our processes, combining patience and wisdom to leave our soul in every wine. The winery is equipped with modern and versatile production systems which gives us great opportunities to produce an exceptional wine, being respectful at the same time with the identity and wealth of our estates.

Our wines

Several factors play a part in achieving excellent quality in the production of Valdecuevas wines: constant care and personal style, the goodness of the Castilian land and local know-how and, the use of state of the art technology.

The wines from Valdecuevas are fresh, elegant and harmonious, with grapes coming exclusively from their vineyard.

WHITE WINE

Valdecuevas Verdejo D.O. Rueda

Made entirely of Verdejo grapes from La Pardina estate, from the older and less productive vineyards. These vineyards are located on more stony soil, which promotes the proper maturation and balance of the harvest. At the winery, they keep pursuing the preservation of the variety, with maceration and controlled fermentation and subsequent ageing on lees for 3 months.

Notes of stone fruit, peach and apricot, and some fennel and aromatic intensity. Smooth texture, freshness, balanced and persistent.

WHITE WINE

Valdecuevas Verdejo Fermented in Barrels D.O. Rueda

Made entirely of Verdejo grapes from La Pardina estate, fermented in French oak barrels of 500 liters, where it is aged on lees for 7 months, over which there has been a weekly “batonage”, resulting in an elegant and robust wine, where the varietal provides freshness, and the oak a very interesting complexity.

Spicy tones, vanilla, lightly toasted, conjoined with fruity tones and aniseed characteristic of Verdejo. It has a great texture coupled with a touch of acidity that adds freshness and balance.
