About this wine
Description & facts
A perfect blend of tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec. The grapes are harvested from vineyards between 750 and 1000m of altitude and come from a limestone, sandy-loam soil. In the winery, all movement was done by gravity fed, without pumps and done gently. The grapes were de-stemmed, and fermentation was done with whole berries. The wine had 12 months of aging in 255liter French oak barrels, from selected forests. At the end of aging, 46 different wines were made, depending on vineyard, varietal and type of barrel. This wine is the final blend of all of them. The winter of 2015 – 2016 was cold and dry. Spring was not very warm and with heavy rain in April and May, with some moderate sun. The summer was very dry and hot, with maximum temperatures above average. Weather wise, it was an almost perfect year for the vineyard. The yields were higher than expected yet the quality was excellent.

- Tasting note
- It has an intense garnet rim followed by a deep cherry color throughout. The nose is complex, with highlights of minerality, balsamic and spice notes when the bottle is freshly opened. After breathing, notes of red fruits (currants, plum, cherry) become apparent and undercurrents of elegant, toasted oak show. On the palate it is a deep, full-bodied, smooth wine with very good acid balance. Sensations of red fruit and spices show on the palate as well
